Speed expectations
Customers who lease our modem and router may expect speed tests up to 2.3 Gbps.
Understanding the Throughput: Although the service is marketed as 2.5 Gig, the total usable throughput you can leverage is up to 2.3 Gbps. This is because standard network protocols reserve the remaining bandwidth for overhead essential for reliable packet transmission and network operation.
Shared Bandwidth: Please note that the 2.3 Gbps is a shareable bandwidth across all connected devices—both wired and wireless—operating within your premise. Simultaneous high-bandwidth activities will divide the available throughput.
Wireless connection
Speeds will vary based on a few contributing factors including:
• The WiFi protocol—G/N/AC/AX (the type of wireless communication that makes it possible for devices to interact)
• The type of device accessing the Internet
• The distance between the WiFi antenna and your device
