Devices certified to the 2019 ANSI Standard operate on a wider range of frequency bands, meet heightened RF interference requirements, allow consumers who use telecoils to receive improved inductive coupling requirements, are evaluated using a more consumer-friendly approach, and are tested to meet international standards. The 2019 ANSI Standard for the first time includes a volume control requirement. From December 5, 2023, all new device models must be certified using the 2019 ANSI Standard.
